| In-situ measurement |
The sample gas is measured at the installation point; where a fast response measurement is normally required e.g. combustion control applications . The measurement can normally be termed hot and wet. |
| Extractive measurement |
The sample gas is removed from the process stream, and transported to a separate analyser system, The measurement can normally be termed cooled and dry. |
