The Lancom range of portable flue gas analysers features gas sample probes for varying applications. In applications where a standard probe is not suitable, or there is a special measurement requirement – select one of these alternative probes.
Product Range Standard Sample Probe – for gas temperatures up to 600 °C / 1112 °F High Temperature Probe – for gas temperatures up to 1400 °C / 2552 °F Smoke Probe – for analysis of smoke density using a Bacharach scale Flow Probe – for analysis of gas flow rate, velocity and mass emissions calculations DrySamplerTM Probe – complete with integral sample gas drier for better measurement of soluble gases such as NO2 and SO2.
All gases plus higher performance with soluble gases NO2 & SO2

Standard Sample Probe
The Standard sample probe is suitable for most applications where the gas temperature is below 600 °C / 1112 °F. An adjustable collar is provided with the probe to prevent air ingress at the measurement point – thus preventing inaccurate readings, and to control the insertion distance into the gas stream. The probe is easily assembled and disassembled to fit inside the carry case.
Features
Adjustable collar to control insertion distance and seal properly with entry port
Replaceable sintered filter tip
High quality steel probe tube
High Temperature Probe
The High Temperature Gas Sample Probe is suitable for most applications where the gas temperature is up to 1400 °C / 2552 °F. A fixed sealing collar is provided with the probe to prevent air ingress at the measurement point – thus preventing inaccurate readings. An adjustable support handle and multiple heat shields ensure the probe can be used safely in high temperature applications. The probe tube is easily removed and replaced.
Features
Unique handle designed to dissipate heat from the sample
Probe tube easily replaced
Special heat-deflecting shield to protect the user from escape of hot process gases
Smoke Probe
The Smoke Probe provides smoke density measurements, by passing the sample gas over a filter paper for a fixed time period. The colour change of the filter paper is compared against a Bacharach smoke scale (0 –9) to give a result. The filter paper is easily fitted inside the probe handle. An adjustable collar is provided with the probe to prevent air ingress at the measurement point – thus preventing inaccurate readings, and to control the insertion distance into the gas stream.
Features
Simple to setup and use
Measurement comparison against the Bacharach Smoke Scale
Adjustable collar to control insertion distance and seal properly with entry port
Flow Probe
The Flow Probe is suitable for most applications where the gas temperature is below 600 °C / 1112 °F. An adjustable collar and handle is provided with the probe to prevent air ingress at the measurement point – thus preventing inaccurate readings, and to control the insertion distance into the gas stream. Flow measurement is made by the Pitot tube design at the top of the probe. The probe is also suitable for measuring gas concentrations.
Note the Lancom portable gas analyser must have a revised flow sensor fitted to operate with the flow probe.
DrySampler Probe
The DrySampler™ probe both samples and dries the wet flue gas at the measurement point.
The DrySampler™ not only provides a solution but also successfully meets the requirements for practicality and cost.
The DrySampler™ uses a revolutionary design (US Patent No. 6782767), featuring a probe with an integrated sample drying system, which excludes the requirement for expensive, heavy, inconvenient and unreliable separate sample conditioners, heated sample lines and probes.
The unique DrySampler™ probe does not require electrical power and is fully self-contained – making it truly portable, low cost and more importantly very easy to use. The probe plugs straight into any Lancom portable analyser.
The DrySampler™ is especially successful when monitoring soluble gases such as SO2 and NO2. The probe has been independently performance tested (Ref. National Physical Laboratory Report QE21/02/1042), proving the design and operation produce very accurate and repeatable measurement results.
Features
Removes moisture from the sample gas at the probe, giving the most accurate and reliable analysis of soluble gases such as NO2 and SO2.
