The Stove Dome Thermometer uses an accurate sighting assembly to measure the temperature inside blast furnace stoves which operate at high temperatures and pressures.
The system consists of a radiation thermometer mounted on to a fully adjustable sighting assembly with a shut-off valve mechanism which can be manually or electrically controlled.

The assembly is mounted on a stand pipe on top or on the side of the stove to allow the thermometer to sight onto internal checker or bridge brick-work.
The shut-off valve permits removal of the thermometer for cleaning or checking without the loss of stove pressure.
This system can also be used to monitor temperatures on the hot blast main.
