LANDSCAN CONTROL PROCESSORS |
LANDSCAN INFRARED LINESCANNER CONTROL PROCESSORS
The Landscan Control Processors provide the essential interface
between the LANDSCAN Heads and the customers industrial
process control systems.
The LANDSCAN Control Processors interpret temperature data generated by the LANDSCAN Heads and generate online control signals. Additional display, analysis and data storage functionality is provided by a Data Server PC running the LANDSCAN Windows Control and Analyse (WCA) Software.

| Choice of Control Processors |
| There are two LANDSCAN Control Processors in the range to choose from to suit your application and requirements: |
Landscan Control Compact LSC-C |
Landscan Control Batch LSC-B |
| |
| The Landscan Control Compact (LSC-C) is a simple, economic back-of-panel mountable unit, and the Landscan Control Batch (LSC-B) is a 19in rack mountable unit. |
| |
| Choose the Landscan Control Processor to best suit your application: |
| |
| Landscan Control Compact |

Continuous, linear, slow moving products, such as hot steel strip, galvanising/galvanneal and float glass with up to 4 digital/analog inputs and outputs |
| |
| Landscan Control Batch |

Discrete, linear and rotary products, such as thermoformed plastic sheet, automotive glass, fibre board, torpedo car protection with up to 12 digital/analog outputs and up to 8 digital/analog inputs. |

| Process Control |
The outputs from the LSP and LS Landscan heads are transmitted to a Landscan Control Processor, the processor is capable of reading 1000 samples per scan line at up to 100 scan lines per second.
All Landscan Control Processors can be configured using the supplied Landscan Processor Configuration software. Once configured, the Landscan Control Processor performs calculations on the received signals and can generate control zone signals and alarms for process control. This information can be communicated to the customers plant control system via digital/analog signals, serial communications or TCP/IP Ethernet communications. Additional display, analysis and data storage functionality is provided by a Data Server PC running the Landscan Windows Control and Analyse (WCA) software.
The Landscan Control Batch Processor (LSC-B) can also be used with an optional PC based OPC communications link.
The Landscan Control processors communicate with the Landscan WCA software and other computer systems using TCP/IP Ethernet protocol for process control purposes. The Landscan Processor Configuration software provides basic functionality to allow the Landscan Control Processors to monitor the Landscan Head measurement parameters. |

Landscan Control Compact |
| |
The Landscan Control Compact (LSC-C) is an economic processor designed for temperature measurement in linear applications. LSC-C processors can incorporate an optional DAIO board providing 4 digital/analog inputs and 4 digital/analog outputs.
The LSC-C processors are designed to operate with all Landscan Head types, when used with an LSP Landscan Head it provides all the necessary power supplies, laser on/ off, external emissivity and internal ambient temperature control signals. |

Landscan Control Batch |
| |
The Landscan Control Batch (LSC-B) is an extremely powerful signal processor which can be configured specifically to suit the particular process control application.
Linear - the product passes in a straight line through the scanner head field
Product - discrete, individual products Rotary - the product is rotating as it passes through the scanner field of view
LSC-B provides new additional product orientated functionality. It can detect the beginning and the end of a product internally and then overlay a two dimensional grid onto the product and then calculate area temperatures for the product.
This new functionality is particularly useful in industries such as: plastics thermoforming and glass tempering where the product is heated by a number of individual heaters; or in applications where the product needs temperature monitoring by areas. All area or group temperature information can be made available using the optional PC based OPC interface for use by the heater control PC.
The LSC-B can also interface with an optional digital incremental encoder to correct the non linear image from rotary thermoforming machines. LSC-B is able to take into account the machine acceleration, velocity and deceleration during the index.
