Tempered / Toughened Glass

How toughened glass breaks

A challenge for plants running multiple glass types with a variety of coatings has been how to accurately measure the glass temperature with a minimum input from the operator, particularly when the coating typically has a very low emissivity.

This can be solved by connecting the compact SOLOnet SN5 into the LANDSCAN system viewing the glass from underneath; the dedicated glass toughening software uses this signal to compensate the temperature measurement for accurate measurements independent of surface coating.

How do I measure temperature of low emissivity glass?

Key Benefits

  • Suitable for all Coatings - An optional single point thermometer makes it possible to make accurate measurements on even the lowest emissivity coatings.
  • Full Configurable Alarms - can be configured to alert operators instantly of any product issues
  • Simple Installation - Via a single cable connection, reduces installation costs and complexity
  • Data Exchange - Processed data can be transferred via a simple cross-platform TCP/IP or an optional OPC server
